Alfredo Sauce

Blogger loser award goes to this girl right here! Sorry guys!!! This summer has been CRAZY!!!! But I'm going to try (keyword here is try) to be a better blogger.

Last night for dinner we had spaghetti. Spaghetti is one of the few foods that the whole family loves! Big sister, littlest sister, and I are not big on tomato sauce. So we like Alfredo sauce. I make my own Alfredo sauce after finding the recipe on allrecipes.com . I thought I'd share the recipe with you!!! :D

Alfredo Sauce recipe

1 cup butter

1 cup cream (I use half & half)

1 clove garlic

1 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese

1 Tbs parsley

Melt butter in medium sauce pan over medium heat. Add cream and simmer for 5 minutes. Add garlic and cheese. Whisk quickly, heating through. Stir in parsley and serve.
It's not hard at all! And it is yummy!!! :) Let me know if you make it and how it turns out for you.

German Sugar Cookies

Ok! Sorry it has been forever since I last posted! Life as been so busy!!! Well, today I'd like to share a recipe for German Sugar Cookies that I found the other day! These are so easy to make and they are yummy!!! ;)
German Sugar Cookies
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
4 cups flour (I used fresh ground wheat flour)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets.
2. In a large bowl cream together butter and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract in till well blended. Combine the flour, backing powder, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place cookies 1 1/2 inches apart on the cookie sheets.
3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool 5 minutes on the pan before removing to wire racks. Decorate with your favorite icing and/or sprinkles if you desire! :)
This recipe does not take long and it's very easy. What you can do is just make the cookie dough but it in a container in the fridge, and just pull it out when you need it! :) These also make amazing Christmas cookies! :)
Merry Christmas!

Peanut butter cookies

Sorry that I haven't posted in forever!!!!! Life has just been so busy this summer! :) Well today we started school so maybe I'll be posting more!
The recipe that I'm going to share with you today is one that my friend taught me while she was staying at our house for a week! This recipe is super duper easy and really yummy!!!!!!! :)

Peanut butter cookies

2 cups of Peanut butter
2 cups of sugar
and 2 eggs

I know what your thinking... well ummmm Katie hello! you forgot the flour!!! No I didn't! There is no flour in this recipe! I know it does seem a bit crazy at first but it really is good! :) Set the oven preheating at 350 degrees. So... add all the ingredients (egg, sugar, and peanut butter) into a bowl.

It may not well ummmmm exactly look... well... beautiful. But just wait!!! :)

Stir well!

Then take hand fulls of the dough like thingy and roll them into balls. About this size

Put it in the oven for around 15 minutes or so (or in till it looks cookished!)

They should end up something like this maybe! :) I've cooked them twice! Once they turned out like this and the other time they kinda looked like rolls! They were good both times though!

If you make this recipe remember to tell me how it turns our for you! :)

Happy cooking!

Snickerdoodles

Yesterday I cooked Snickerdoodles! They turned out really good!!! So here's the recipe:

Snickerdoodles

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup butter

2 eggs

2 3/4 cups flour

2 tsp. cream of tartar

1 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. salt

3 tbsp. sugar

3 tsp. ground cinnamon

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix 1 1/2 cups of sugar (I used sucanat instead of sugar but you can use normal sugar), the butter, and eggs in a large bowl.

Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

(cream of tartar is a kind of spice)

Mix 3 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Shame the dough into balls (this will be hard because it's sticky. Don't worry about them not looking good right then.) Roll them into the cinnamon sugar mix. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until set, 8 to 10 minutes. (If you look in the oven and it looks like they are melting don't freak out!!! :) It's ok. It does that.)

When done immediately remove from cookie sheet. Let cool a little bit and enjoy!!! :)

If you cook these don't forget to comment and let me know what you thought of them!! :)

Happy Cooking!
